Our client, a leading manufacturing company based in Waterford currently has a vacancy for an Engineering Manager . The purpose of this role will be to lead the development of world class maintenance systems and procedures to support the safe and efficient operation of the manufacturing plant. The Role. Responsible for Health & Safety performance of the Mechanical Maintenance Group. Maintain exemplary standards of housekeeping cleanliness in Mechanical Workshop and technician work areas. Ensure minimal impact on environment & local neighbours arising from maintenance practices. Achieve plant uptime and reliability targets. Lead and direct the ongoing development of maintenance practices and CMMS. Develop and implement progressive planned & predictive LEAN maintenance systems. Implement proactive online condition monitoring of manufacturing equipment. Control of maintenance costs within budget targets. Collaborate with Procurement Manager to ensure optimum, cost-effective, spares holding. Proactive maintenance of dust seals and containment systems to maintain good air quality inside Factory Building. Proactively engage employees and maintain positive industrial relations in maintenance department. Reporting structure: Reports to Operations Director/Manager. Subordinates: Electrical Engineer, Electrical Supervisor, 2 Mechanical Lead hands & 24 Technicians. The Person. BSc Degree in relevant Engineering discipline. Min. 8 years relevant experience in heavy industry or wood processing plant. Proven track record of managing maintenance and engineering projects through to completion. Detailed knowledge of LEAN maintenance practices and CMMS. Proven track record of team leadership, people management and IR experience. Strong communication, project management, budgeting, organizational & interpersonal skills. Self-motivated, enthusiastic with ability to deliver to deadlines.
