Description

Financial Accountant. Our client based in Waterford is seeking a Financial Account to join their team. Role: •Manage the Finance Functions of the business (Accounting, Receivables, Payables, Payroll and Treasury. •Produce the Management Accounts for Corporate, monthly, quarterly, & annually. •Responsible for the monthly Financial Forecasting Process. •Provide support for Quarterly Business Reviews. •Financial point of contact for Corporate Finance, Auditors, Tax Authorities, Customs & Excise, Customers/Vendors. •Manage Corporate Governance compliance in the Finance area. •Manage the Financial Year End closing process. •Draft the Statutory Accounts. •Manage the provision of summary and detailed Budget information to managers. •Provide financial support for decision making to other departments. Duties: • Achieve Operational/Financial Performance. • Produce accurate and timely management and financial accounts monthly, quarterly and annually. • Produce full year forecasts for the business on a frequent basis as required by Corporate. • Ensure all tax returns are filed on time and accurately. • Manage the Accounts Payable and Receivable teams and ensure all processes and procedures are followed correctly. • Manage the Payroll team and ensure wages and salaries are paid accurately and timely in line with e company’s policies and procedures. • Ensure the SAP financial system reflects the accurate financial position of the company. • Manage finance team and review performance against company objectives on a regular basis. • Work with all other departments and provide the necessary financial information for the company to make the best informed decisions for its benefit. • Assist management team in identifying opportunities in the business. • Innovate with new systems to streamline as many workflows as possible. • Reporting. Education required: • Professional Qualification from a recognised accountancy body. Experience required: • Minimum 5 years plus post qualification experience. • Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar position in a medium to large size manufacturing organisation. Knowledge & Skills required: • Capacity to develop in depth knowledge of accounting systems while also appreciating the broader business issues and the impact of the external environment. • Effective planning and organisational skills to achieve departmental targets and deadlines. • Microsoft Office, Payroll Software. Good knowledge of Business Systems with an appreciation of the Technical issues. • SAP knowledge desirable. • Experience of working in a structured financial environment with SOX controls i.e. US Multinational.
