The successful applicant will be responsible for leading and motivating a Branch team to deliver excellent sales and customer service. Reporting to an Area Manager, the Branch Manager is accountable for the profitability of the Branch and for leading the development of the business strategy to deliver the full range of products and services to a diverse customer base in a cost effective, efficient, and compliant manner. The Branch Manager is required to develop strong internal and community networks in the local area, to maintain and increase the Bank’s profile and in collaboration with Business Banking, Branch colleagues and other key stakeholders across the Region and Distribution Channels, to maximise Bank of Ireland’s effectiveness in the marketplace. Responsibilities: Lead the development and implementation of the Branch Strategy, aligned to Area, Regional, Retail and Group Strategy, to increase the profile of the Bank and grow the customer base. Provide vision, leadership, regular communication and mentoring support to team members to promote employee development and maximise team performance. Drive sales, income, service, and productivity standards in the Branch. Lead and ensure effectiveness of the key Business Models, Local Market Planning(LMP), Sales Excellence(SEP) and Best Practice Relationship Management (BPRM. Champion the Bank amongst relevant business and civil communities, including media, customers, and the financial community. Lead and manage organisational change in the Branch so employees foster and implement change initiatives in line with Retail strategy. Review and monitor regulatory and compliance frameworks to ensure the business adheres to agreed Group standards and controls covering systems, processes and procedures. Measure, monitor and proactively manage credit management risk information in a manner that fulfils the business strategic goals while complying with standards related to risk management. Ensure that the credit reputation of the business is protected and adequately represented in order to secure ongoing support for key credit/risk initiative. Oversee the day-to-day management of the Branch to ensure delivery of business objectives through most efficient means, including the promotion of Channel Integration to optimise customer adoption of phonem online and self service channels. Key requirements: The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a management role and should possess a relevant 3rd level qualification with a primary Degree or Masters Qualification preferable. Track record of improving the profitability, with demonstration of expertise in industry concepts, practices and procedures. Strong financial analysis skills with ability to review and understand financial and management accounts as well as financial forecasts and other key credit components. Expertise in, and passion for, emerging trends in banking e.g. online, internet, B2B, social media etc. Client focused, with a proven track record of success in driving sales and profits, and in building and developing teams of highly performing sales professionals. Exceptional interpersonal skills and a strong ability to achieve success. Excellent business acumen and the ability to lead the market in the local community – understanding market conditions, competitors, customers and organisational strategies and new business development. Strong change management skills to lead, foster and implement necessary change initiatives. Excellent communication and influencing skills to positively impact senior executives, external bodies, employees and customers. Sound knowledge of relevant regulatory and compliance agenda.
