Our client, a leading manufacturing company based in Waterford currently has a vacancy for a Maintenance Engineering Manager . Reporting to the Director of Engineer the Maintenance Engineering Manager takes the responsibility for and accountability towards the Maintenance function. You will possess the competence to develop the position, the effectiveness to drive it forward and the overall management skills to ensure that the Maintenance Function adds to the greater benefit of the plant. This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate! The Role. Develop and implement a preventative maintenance strategy for the plant. Monitor the effectiveness of all maintenance activities. Develop the skill set and training plans of the technician group to meet the requirements of the site. Monitor and report on plant and equipment OEE, usage and capacity. Develop and monitor performance KPIs and department metrics and present to key plant stakeholders as required. Prepare maintenance budget, control spend and report on status. Propose capital expenditure projects designed to improve OEE and reduce overall maintenance costs. The Person. Bachelors / Master’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering or other relevant technical equivalent. 10+ year’s experience of maintenance related work in high-volume industries (5 years in supervisory / management) with a significant technology content. Extensive hands-on experience of staff development, engagement and change management and modern industrial relations practices. Knowledge of medical device and/or pharmaceutical production preferred (cGMP / FDA regulated environment. Self-directed, excellent communication skills on technical subjects. Ability to form relationships with stakeholders and work with cross functional teams.
