Description

The Role. Proven experience of people management and working within a medical practice or a similar alternative business environment. Strong work ethic and flexible in terms of working hours to ensure business goals are achieved and to attend out of hours meetings and functions. Demonstrable track record of successful operational management and improvement. Proven track record of successfully growing a business while cognisant of related challenges and issues. Experience of working in a business oriented, commercial and customer focused environment. Previous experience and knowledge of budget development and management with a track record of tight cost/budget control. Strong work ethic and flexible in terms of working hours to ensure business goals are achieved and to attend out of office meetings and functions. Grow and develop revenue and patient numbers in line with the company’s ambitious growth plans and business strategy. Management of the business to meet patient & revenue targets. Gather & analyze relevant activity data to aid decision making and assist in the growth and development of the business. Manage key relationships at all level and develop a strong network amongst decision makers and industry influencers both locally and nationally. Practice accreditation. Organize events & education evenings for Optometrists, GPs and Ophthalmologists. Develop company literature and promote the business in an appropriate manner incl. the development of a new website for the Institute. Communication of company values, vision and messages within the practice. Responsible for recruitment, contracts and salaries of support staff. Staff development & Training. Staff performance management. Managing time-keeping and attendance. Managing staff retention. Managing Employee Relations and developing a culture of Continuous Improvement, Quality and Right First Time. Attending to grievances and disciplinary issues. Health & Safety compliance. Foster an environment of effective teamwork approach across the practice/region. The Person. Leadership and People skills with the ability to develop staff to achieve personal and business goals. Ability to build strong relationships with staff, customers and key stakeholders and decision makers within the medical sector. Foster and develop a culture of Teamwork within the Institute. Skilled in Planning and Control. Performance management. Delegation and Decision Making. Strong Commercial and customer Focus. Ability to learn and develop a deep understanding of the business. Ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks and thrive in a fast paced and regulated environment. Dynamic, innovative and highly energetic. Relevant 3 rd level qualifications would be an advantage but not a pre-requisite.
