Our client, a leading Waterford based financial services organisation has a vacancy for a Credit Manager who will be a member of the Management Team. As a Credit Manager you will manage the Credit Department which involves assessing and evaluating the current credit processes / systems and making recommendations for improvement, managing a team and reporting to the C.E.O and Board of Directors. If you have previous experience working as a Credit Underwriter within a financial services organisation, this is the perfect job for you. THE ROLE. Managing the Credit Department. Acting as a subject matter expert and advisor in all areas of credit. Reviewing the current credit processes / systems and making recommendations for improvement. Maintaining appropriate risk / governance standards and ensuring a consistent approach to credit. Providing guidance and interpretation of credit policies and standards. Implementing recommended changes to credit processes / systems. Providing training on new credit assessment processes / systems. THE PERSON. Has a 3rd level qualification and is QFA qualified. 8+ years’ experience in a credit underwriting role within a financial services organisation. Previous management experience in a financial services environment. Ability to interpret and understand credit processes / systems and provide informed advice and recommendations. Excellent knowledge of credit and compliance with all governance, regulation, policy and standards. Strong analytical skills and decision making ability. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Good attention to detail and organisational skills.
