Eurofins Lancaster Laboratories is currently recruiting for an IT System Administrator based in Dungarvan County Waterford. The main purpose of this role is to maintain the IT infrastructure (Workstations, Servers, Networking equipment) of Eurofins companies in UK and Ireland and ensure its reliability and cost effectiveness. To provide third line IT and telephone support to users and act as an escalation point for the Service Desk. Responsibilities Include: Perform on-site and remote technical support for all UK and Ireland businesses. Strong skills in documentation and creations of SOPs. Provide users with appropriate level of support and advice. Adhere to KPI’s and SLA’s. Demonstrate regular attendance and punctuality. Perform daily system monitoring utilising tools made available. Verify integrity and availability of all hardware. Direct responsibility of the servers, locally and remotely; o Build, configuration and implementation. o Ensure error-free and efficient implementation and functioning of the servers. o Patch servers with Microsoft WSUS Critical Updates. Ensure all systems are updated with the latest Ani-Virus definition files. Administer Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS and DHCP. Ensure error-free and efficient implementation and functioning of the systems. Ensure adequate support is accessible to the users of the services. Ensure all necessary technical support is provided to all internal users and maintain users' satisfaction in the specific fields of responsibilities. Perform daily backup operations (where applicable. Ensure integrity of backup media and media is hosted off-site. Perform regular test restores and DR testing. The systems under responsibility are; o Workstation and laptops. o Files and backup servers. (Physical and Virtual. o Act as backup for server and storage support, including front line support on general software (MS Office and business systems. o 10% Travel required. Production. Contribute to corporate/company-wide projects as required. Ensure all reasonable steps are taken to achieve accuracy and reliability of information, in particular reliability of local network and servers. To generate specific reports with conclusions with a high level of quality and technical competence. Input to the Servicedesk and Operations Manager on a regular basis on technical guidance, reporting, planning, and budget. Setting and compiling targets and providing statistical or other reports. Experience/Qualifications. BSc in Computer Science or Information Technology, ITIL certified, Microsoft certification, Experience with SAN technology and VMWare. GXP experience essential for this role. Experience in validation and support of pharmaceutical laboratory instrumentation and systems.
