Are you an Electrical Engineer looking to progress in your career? Would you like to join a leading Engineering Consultancy in Waterford? Due to upcoming projects and the continued success and growth of the Consultancy they are looking for a Lead Electrical Engineer to join their team for a contract. Initially you will be based in Waterford before moving to site in the UK for a project. The Role. As the Lead Electrical Engineer on site you will direct and coordinate all project electrical engineering issues related to equipment specification, procurement, and installation design such as: procurement strategy, preparation of specifications, selection of suppliers, technical and scope supervision of contracts, review of vendor data, verify critical calculations, Factory Acceptance Testing, liaison with other disciplines on packages and support to site during installation and commissioning. You will: Be responsible for ensuring quality, approving of electrical design deliverables and making independent decisions on electrical engineering issues. Provide expert technical support and liaise directly with clients. Carry out the design of power distribution and protection systems for both LV, MV and HV. Carry out the design of motor control circuits including VSD applications. Carry out protection studies and calculations for LV and MV systems. Supervise a team of Engineers and designers for the delivery of detailed work packages according to programme and cost requirements. Be responsible for the preparation of cost and man-hour estimates. Manage the resources required for the electrical engineering scope of the project. Examine and find solutions for complex Electrical engineering challenges. Visit suppliers and monitor their activities. Evaluate bids and documentation from suppliers. The Person. Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline. 3+ years relevant work experience as an Electrical Engineer managing projects. Design experience including cable calculation, earthing and containment. Knowledge of British/European Standards and codes of practice including ATEX. Experienced with the selection and specification of electrical distribution and control equipment.
