One of the leading employers in Waterford is seeking dynamic Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to provide to provide functional support to the process and support departments across its manufacturing plants and to ensure operation of and compliance with the plant EHSS program. Responsibilities: Active Implementation and support of the policy ,strategy and operation of the EHSS program for entire facility operations. Support to the EHSS Manager and EHSS team as well as operations and engineering functions. Drive EHSS agenda within the facility to ensure the company meets/exceeds best practice for EHSS management and controls. Execution of a systematic approach to risk assessments ensuring appropriate mitigation of risk. Working with operations managers to ensure the EHSS programs are effective and up-to-date. Support of internal systems to support incident case management, risk assessments, EHS inspections and internal and external auditing. Participate with multi-disciplinary project teams comprising of operations and engineering personnel. Take part in Occupational Hygiene programs for the business. Conduct all necessary EHSS training programs in liaison with the training function. Liaison with on site onsite security. Liaison with onsite waste handling control and management for hazardous and nonhazardous waste streams. Consult and Liaise with elected Safety Representative on matters of EHS. Requirements: Must be computer literate. Qualification required at minimum Diploma level for EHSS. Qualification desirable in Occupational First Aid and Manual Handling but not essential.
