Quality Engineer. Our client, a successful component manufacturer, in conjunction with Gemma Hayes Recruitment now to seek to recruit a Quality Engineer. About the Job. The job is a hands-on roll to assist the Operations Manager and other departments to drive the company’s quality management system and customer requirements within a fast paced, dynamic and evolving engineering manufacturing environment. The position involves dealing with shop floor quality issues as well as providing support to all aspects of the business to ensure objectives are met whilst maintaining compliance with the quality system. You would be expected to apply root cause analysis to all non-conformances and identify and implement robust corrective actions. Key Responsibilities. Managing internal audits and supporting the continuous improvement of the QMS and change control and provide ongoing communication/reporting of results. Providing Quality Assurance support and maintaining compliance with current and proposed external standards. Corresponding with customers on compliance issues. Monitoring and managing standards in the supply chain. Coordinate and direct external 3rd party audits of the Ireland HQ. Support Operations to make Quality / Compliance decisions on product during processing, manufacturing, testing, monitoring and packaging. Assesses supplier capabilities through direct visits, technical discussions and involvement in quality system audits. Coordinate with Operations, Sales, Purchasing and Engineering to resolve customer complaints and concerns. Provide quality support to operations ensuring consistent application of quality techniques: o Resolve quality issues of capability, tolerancing, and materials related issues. o Resolve quality issues by identifying problems, examining solution options, implementing action plans, and providing resources. o Effectively communicate and reinforce our commitment to quality improvement efforts. Recommend and implement enhancements to the quality system that result in improved corporate quality performance, increased customer satisfaction, and/or simplification of processes to reduce costs. Undertake any other duties as assigned. Job Requirements. Minimum 3 years related experience in an engineering & manufacturing environment essential. Degree in Science / Engineering or related fields essential. Qualification in Quality/Validation/Statistics would be a distinct advantage. Clear understanding of quality systems and requirements in an Engineering Environment; including measurement techniques essential. Strong working knowledge ISO 9001 Quality systems essential. Working knowledge of quality tools such as Process Control, FEMEA, Problem Solving/Root Cause Analysis and other analytics tools. Investigations into Non-Conforming Events and Complaints and CAPA identification & implementation. Skills/Abilities. Strong interpersonal skill with the ability to communicate effectively at all organisational levels. Experience using mechanical testing, measuring & instrument equipment. Experience with GA’s, P&ID’s and other engineering Drawings. Experience working within GMP and other highly regulated environments. Experience working with fast paced, dynamic and evolving engineering manufacturing environment. Experience working on global teams. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to manage suppliers and resolve disputes while preserving relationships with suppliers. Excellent problem-solving ability in cross-functional and multi-cultural environment; able to define problems, collect relevant data, extract meaning from data, and draw valid conclusions.
