Our client, a Kilkenny based Health Care facility currently have a vacancy for 6 Nurses. The ideal candidates will be flexible in their approach to service provision and have the ability to work as a member of a team. The candidates will also be required to ensure the day-to-day operations are in line with policies and procedures. Assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating individualised person- centred care programmes within an agreed framework in accordance with best practice. Develop and maintain close links with the person and their family ensuring a partnership approach and provide information to empower them in decision making, goal setting and problem solving in order to optimise their contribution and facilitate their participation in community based activities. Monitor overall healthcare, prevention of illness and promote healthy lifestyles with the person. To accompany the person to hospital, clinics, or to GP’s surgery when required. Participate in service audits, the development of protocols and guidelines, and the setting of professional nursing standards. Maintain written records and reports regarding people care in accordance with local and national guidelines. To promote a home-like atmosphere for the people in the community home in order to assist in their development to integrate in the local community. Take management responsibility for an assigned area in the absence of a team leader. Participate in the induction of new staff in the clinical area and identify training needs pertinent to the clinical area. Nursing requirements. Nursing Qualification – in Intellectual Disability & must maintain annual registration with the NMBI. Preferably – Psychiatric, General or Paediatric’s. Desirable: HSE Land Medication Management Course. Experience working with people with Intellectual Disabilities. Experience of working with multiple internal and external stakeholders, as relevant to this role. Working Knowledge of HIQA standards and the HSE Transformation Programme. Excellent communication, teamwork, interpersonal and organisational skills. Flexibility to work agreed roster to ensure that the person’s needs are met.
