Hartley People are currently recruiting for a Quality Technician on behalf of our client based in Waterford. Remuneration: Negotiable depending on experience. The Role: Support both QC Laboratory’s No.1 & No.2 as stand-in / back-up inspection resource as required covering absenteeism, holidays, training etc. Assist and deputise for the Quality Manager as directed and when required. Review, investigate, report and forward preventive and corrective action proposals for Customer Complaints in conjunction with the Quality Manager and CAPA team. Become fully conversant with all company QMS documentation, Test Procedures, Data Sheets, Lab procedures (as appropriate. To broadly focused on the process control activities of company Coating Department Unit 5 & 6 and Converting Operations, Unit 320 / 321. Become familiar with all PPI, TAP, Coating products, procedures and processes. Perform process monitoring and control for high value products. Particularly ‘Label Stock’ products. Identify potential process improvements for high value coated products. Submit Process Monitoring Quality Reports to Management in support of companys CAPA improvement process as and when required / dictated by process quality. Partake in, and lead CA / PA meetings for identified Coating and Converting related quality problems in conjunction with the Quality Manager. Inspect and report In-coming material non-conformances affecting production. Develop an Excel based report for In-coming material non-conformances and link to existing SCAR system. Support internal and external customer PPAP requirements in line with TS 16949 as directed by the Quality Manager. Develop Control Plans and FMEA’s in conjunction with the R&D Department and Assistant to the Managing Director in conjunction with and as directed by the Quality Manager, or as and when dictated by customer demand. Perform ‘Measurement Systems Analysis’ as requested by the Quality Manager re customer demand. Support the on-going certification of the companies ISO 9001-2008 QMS certification and future Environmental Management certification requirements. Support the Internal Process Auditor as determined by process requirements and conformance to ISO 9001-2008. Ensure compliance and adherence to all health and safety aspects concerned with company, TAP, Coating operations. Perform additional projects and tasks as identified by the Quality Manager and or business demand / change. The Person: Ideally the suitable candidate will have a third level qualification in a Quality Related discipline or appropriate training and industrial experience required to meet the requirements of the role of Quality Technician. Excellent people skills and communication skills (both written and verbal) are seen as vitally important for this role. Candidate must be a ‘team player’ and flexible to the changing needs of the role. Able to work on own initiative, be results and time focused. PC Literate on MS Word, Excell, Power Point. Comfortable with learning new PC and Laboratory test software.
